Is Humanity's Pursuit of Artificial Intelligence a Good or Bad Thing?

Sorry for the really late blog, had a ton of other stuff to do (such as playing Xbox and testing out the newest kick-ass game of the year Assassin’s Creed 2... Woops, I mean studying for exams). Anyways, yes I actually have been busy with a lot of other school work and haven’t had time to post any new blogs so I’ll make it up to you guys somehow (I’ll probably post 2 blogs up instead of one to keep you updated).

So anyways, I was flicking through the channels the other day and started watching this Will Smith movie called “I, Robot”, which I haven’t seen in ages since it came out in theatres. When I started to watch it, I sat there thinking to myself, “How cool would it be to have a robot for a best friend?”.  I mean, seriously, think about it – You could have someone who could do all your chores, help you with your homework, and even keep you occupied when you’re bored. As I was sitting there thinking about this, I was horrified when I saw the robots turn evil in the movie. They were destroying everything in the city on a rampage, trying to take over the world. That’s when I thought it might not be so cool to have a robot as a best friend after all. I mean, what if they malfunction or their brains develop so much that they begin to think for themselves and turn around on the humans? That might turn out to be a bit of a disaster.

But yeah, that’s my only concern about robots being too advanced in the future. Other than that, I wouldn’t mind living with them, just as long as they don’t, you know, destroy the whole world and enslave all of humankind. What are your opinions on humanity’s pursuit of artificial intelligence? Do you think it’s a good or bad thing?

Is living in the Techno-world a good thing?
Many people would argue that without technology, our lives would pretty much suck. I agree with those people and think that anybody who has lived their life without using, or even touching a piece of technology, deserves a trophy for living the most boring life ever. I honestly can't imagine what the world would be like without technology - I guess it would look something like this:

But seriously, technology is the best thing that's ever happened since the destruction of Hitler. I mean, look at it this way: If Hitler was still alive, people would be replaced with Jew-exterminating Nazi Robot Gorillas (If Hitler hasn't already destroyed the world with a Doom Destruction Device or something you would imagine an evil character in a fictional story using to take over the world).
Anyways, my point being that the Techno-world is amazing and if you think technology is evil and is taking over peoples lives and needs to be destroyed, then you can go---

Thanks Kanye. Once again you proved that your big ego is the whole reason the techno-world will never be the same again.

My First Internet Experience

My first internet experience was probably in grade 1 or 2 when we used to go on the computers to play games like Neopets and arcade games (Don't try to hide it, I know you used to play neopets too) . As I started getting older, I began using the internet for searching up things that fascinated me at the time. I also created my first e-mail in grade 4 or 5, which, of course, was an exciting moment for me since a lot of my friends had it and I had been dying to get one at the time (Of course, I did it without telling my parents. But I know I'm not the only one who secretly created an e-mail just to "fit in" with everyone else).
However, the internet has changed a lot since then. Now there are social networking websites, like facebook and twitter, that are used to socialize with friends and let others know what you're doing (Yeah right, like anybody cares what YOU'RE doing. Just kidding :D). But seriously, Facebook and twitter are slowly starting to take over people's lives. I wouldn't be surprised if Youtube joined in with them and created one massive social networking/status updating/video watching network. I imagine something as stupid as that would be called "YouTwitFace", which is exactly what would you would be if you spent most of your life stalking other people and letting people what videos you're watching.
I don't spend all my time on the internet (only about 8 hours a day :P). I probably spend about 1-2 hours on the internet for doing homework, depending on what mood I'm in. I also spend the same amount of time making guitar covers on my computer. Even though I spend a lot of time on the internet, I usually use it productively to entertain people by blogging and creating funny prank call videos.

That's pretty much it for this blog. See you in the next one :)
